Troubleshooting Notetaker
Having trouble with Notetaker in Calendly? Use the steps below to fix common issues.
Notetaker didn’t join the meeting
Check your account connection
Make sure you’re signed in to the same Zoom, Google, or Microsoft account connected to Calendly.
Check your Notetaker settings
- For Calendly-scheduled meetings:
Go to Settings → Notetaker tab and confirm the event type is included in your recording rules. - For meetings from your connected calendar:
Go to the Calendar page and confirm Notetaker was turned on before the meeting started.
Check your meeting location
Make sure the meeting link on your Calendar page in Calendly matches where the meeting took place.
Check Zoom recording settings (if using Zoom)
- In Zoom, go to Settings.
- Select Recording.
- Turn on Record to computer files.
- Allow external participants to request recording.
Notetaker joined but didn’t provide a recap
Allow recording during the meeting
When Notetaker joins, make sure recording is allowed. Without permission, it can’t create a recap.
Confirm your account connection
Make sure you’re signed in to the same Zoom, Google, or Microsoft account connected to Calendly.
Check Zoom recording settings (if using Zoom)
- In Zoom, go to Settings.
- Select Recording.
- Turn on Record to computer files.
- Allow external participants to request recording.
Notetaker joins meetings I didn't intend to record
When you enable Notetaker for the first time, it's automatically added to all future meetings. If you prefer to add Notetaker manually for specific meetings instead, you can change this setting in Settings → Notetaker.
To stop automatic recordings, turn off the setting that adds Notetaker to all upcoming meetings in Settings → Notetaker. To remove Notetaker from a specific meeting, toggle Notetaker off from the Calendar page.
